Our Scripture reading today is Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
This verse has been quoted time and time again. It has been used in many a sermon and Sunday school lesson. It has been shared with people who are going through a trial or difficult season of life. Praise the Lord for all the truths we can pull out of this one verse.
Today, I am thankful for two particular words in this text: "all things". All means all and that is all all means. We can rest in God's plan that it too is part of the all things of our lives. There isn't any situation in your life or mine that are excluded from those two words. God will use all things in our lives to work together for our good and His glory.
For My Good and For His Glory
I must admit I don't understand
Why God would let me face
This painful circumstance
All I have to cling to is His word and His name
But that's enough so I will trust
It's for my good and for his glory
This trial's not the end of the story
There's a bigger picture
God alone can see
It will take me through this sorrow
For I know he hold tommorow
And he assures me,
it's for my good and for His Glory
I love the Lord and he has promised me
He'll work all things for good
Through my tears I believe,
That his ways are higher than any of my own
And though my heart aches
He makes no mistake
Though I would not have chosen the suffering that has come
I'm willing now to say
'Lord not my will but thine be done'
