Our Scripture reading today is Acts 1:8, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
The emphasis this morning from this familiar verse is the word, witnesses. As followers of Jesus Christ, it is not simply an option we should consider. There is a definite responsibility that each of us has. It is to be a witness where we are as well as around the world. God has divine appointments arranged for us every day. We need to be ready to give the Gospel and witness for Him.
Our witness around the world takes place as we give of our finances to support missionaries. It has been a privilege for Anchor Baptist to give to missionaries since early in 2002. Only eternity will show the results of our financial witness when it comes to lost souls being saved and in Heaven. I am looking forward to the meeting thousands of people who were reached with the Gospel by missionaries that we were privileged to support. What a day of rejoicing that will be!!
