Our Scripture reading today is Revelation 21:4, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
John the Apostle tells us of a day that many preachers have referred to in their
Sunday or Wednesday sermon. To the finite mind, it seems almost impossible
to find a time and place described in this verse. I will admit that this verse is
more personal to me that it was two years ago. It will be worth it all when we
see Jesus Christ for the first time. The former things passing away is only
possible because of the cross. At the cross where we first saw the Light and all
eternal burdens rolled away.
The trials and troubles of life are only for a brief season. Our home in Heaven
is eternal. Our new body is eternal. I would like to encourage you that this
day is real and will be soon. God is faithful.
