Our Scripture reading today is John 14:1-3.
Verse 1, "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."
The comfort and encouragement the Lord Jesus gave to His disciples is still profitable for us today.  It was definitely a troubling time for the disciples, but Jesus wanted them to go through it without a troubled heart.  Jesus didn’t say, “I’m happy you men are troubled and filled with doubts. You’re doubts are wonderful.” “He takes no delight in the doubt and disquietude of his people. When he saw that because of what he had said to them sorrow had filled the hearts of his apostles, he pleaded with them in great love, and besought them to be comforted.” (Spurgeon) If Jesus said it was possible to do, they could accomplish this task.
Troubling times do not vanish the moment we get saved.  What does happen is we are immediately in dwelt with the Spirit of God.  We will never again be alone during a season of trial or trouble.  Jeremiah 1:19, "And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee."  Psalm 73:23, "Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand."
The choice is ours to make today.  We can chose to trust our all powerful God and know He is with us!  This wise decision will keep our heart from being troubled.
