Our Scripture reading today is Philippians 4:6-7.

Verse 6, "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your
requests be made known unto God."

The command at the beginning of verse six has to be one of the most challenging in all of
the Word of God.  We are directed by the Spirit of God not to worry about anything.
This would indicate that worry is a sin.  Worry is telling God we do not trust Him to take
care of whatever problem or difficulty has come into our life.  It is important to remember
that God allowed it in the first place.  He has a specific purpose in mind even for what we
perceive to be a difficulty.

An action of prayer and thanksgiving are much better than worry.  When the unexpected
happens, turn to prayer and thanksgiving.  God is faithful.  He is more than capable of
leading you through what He has sovereignly allowed into your life.  Trust Him and stop
leaning on what you understand.  God is way bigger than your understanding.  He loves
you and will calm your fears.
