Our Scripture reading today is 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.
Verse 7, "Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things."
The love of God is on full display in 1 Corinthians 13.  Agape love is to be our goal every day.  This love is the perfect love God has for us and we should strive to have for Him and others.  It will not be easy to love sinful man with this type of love.  Verse 7 of our text tells us that love beareth everything.  “You must have fervent charity towards the saints, but you will find very much about the best of them which will try your patience; for, like yourself, they are imperfect, and they will not always turn their best side towards you, but sometimes sadly exhibit their infirmities. Be prepared, therefore, to contend with “all things” in them.” (Spurgeon)
My love for people will be shown in my not sharing their faults with others.  The word, "beareth", means to cover with silence.  This level of love can be seen when, instead of sharing everyone's faults and failures with others, we take them to the Lord in prayer.  Another thought in regards to this verse is we do not need to say everything that we know or that comes to mind.  Love filters out those things that are not edifying.  Since our flesh is weak, we need the filling of the Holy Spirit in order to maintain this level of love.
