Our Scripture reading today is John 8:31-34.

Verse 31, "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;"

A disciple by definition in verse 31 is someone who continues or abides in the Word of God.  These Jews were believers but would become disciples when they stayed in God's Word.  The same is required of believers today.  There are many believers but how many of those believers are disciples?  Are you a believer?  Are you 100% sure that when you die, you will be Heaven?  Jesus Christ sacrificial death, burial and resurrection are the only way to be born again.  If you are still trusting in someone or something else to take you to Heaven, turn to Jesus Christ today and be saved.

Now, how about taking the next step and becoming a disciple for the glory of God?  The instructions are quite clear: "Continue in my word..."  We must abide in the Word of God every day in order to be equipped to be a disciple.  Some have said that a disciple is a disciplined learner.  With this definition in mind, we realize there are numerous "disciples" in our world.  People are disciplined at learning all kinds of things.  A revival of disciples is needed in every Bible preaching church.  I would like to encourage to continue being a disciple or if not a disciple yet, start TODAY!
