Our Scripture reading today is Deuteronomy 30:9-10, "And the LORD thy God
will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the
fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over
thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers: If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the
LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this
book of the law, and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and
with all thy soul."

The first part of these verses Moses is reminding the people of the goodness
of the LORD. All that He has and will provide for them. He follows up with the
conditions to the blessings of the LORD. They were to be obedient to God's
commandments in His Word. If they were living away from God's word, they
were to repent of their sin and start following the LORD faithfully and
fervently.

It would be good for each of us to do some self evaluating this morning. Are
we being obedient children of God? Are we by the grace of God living in
obedience to His Word? Your answer will determine whether or not you
experience the blessing of the LORD or not. He is more than willing to bless
His children if they are living for Him. Obedience always brings blessings. It
is very sad to watch Christians stop living for the LORD. It is heart breaking
to watch them stop coming to church and serving their Saviour. This is
especially true when they have children still in the home who are being led to
do the same. There is still time for you to repent of your wayward ways and
get right with God. He loves you and is more than willing to forgive you if you
have a heart of true repentance.
