Our Scripture verse today is 2 Corinthians 3:18.
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."
When a lost, hell deserving sinner receives God's gift of salvation, there is a change that takes place which leads to many more changes.  One change is our direct access to God.  Verse 16, "Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away."  Jesus Christ death, burial, and resurrection gives us the great privilege to pray directly to God the father.
Another change that takes place at salvation is God's Spirit begins dwelling within us.  The born again child of God will not be comfortable living in sin because the Holy Spirit is in us.  1 John 3:3, "And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure."  God's Spirit always leads us to truth.
Here is a brief summary of what God desires to do now and in the future for all mankind.
Step 1: Salvation - delivered from the penalty of sin. (One moment)
Step 2: Sanctification - being delivered from the power of sin. (Many moments)
Step 3: Glorification - delivered from the presence of sin. (Heaven)
