Our Scripture reading today is 1 John 5:11, "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son."
When we allow the Bible to lead us to truth, it is very clear that eternity with God in
Heaven can only be obtained through Jesus Christ. While all roads supposedly lead to
Rome, it is not that way with eternal life in Heaven. There is only one road and it is
narrow. God does not give mankind the option of coming up with his way to Him.
God already made it clear that the path that leads to eternal life is through His Son.
“It is vain to expect eternal glory, if we have not Christ in our heart. The indwelling Christ gives both
a title to it, and a meetness for it. This is God’s record. Let no man deceive himself here. An
indwelling Christ and GLORY; no indwelling Christ, NO glory. God’s record must stand.” (Clarke)
All of mankind has been given a free will to choose. It is actually quite simple - choose God's plan or
something else. What will you choose? Be very careful that your choice lines up with the Word of God.
Feelings must not lead the way. The facts of God's Word should be our guiding light. If you have chosen
Christ, it is now your responsibility to tell others how to make the right choice.
