Our Scripture reading today is Exodus 32:22-26.
Verse 26, "Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD'S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him."
It did not take the children of Israel long to forget Who delivered them from Egypt.  As Moses delayed in returning to them, they decided to make their own deity.  This is never a good move.  Moses gives an ultimatum in verse 26 to come to him if they were on the LORD's side.
We can fall into this same trap today of making our own deity.  Is there someone or something that has taken the place of God in your life?  On Sunday, we read Deuteronomy 6:5, "And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might."  Has someone or something else received the love that is reserved for the LORD God?  Our God is always faithful to take of us.  He alone deserves our full dedication and love.  His kingdom should be what guides our daily life.
