Our Scripture reading today is James 5:16, "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another,
that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
There is a need from time to time that we should let others know what we are having
trouble overcoming. It is good to be humble and not overly concerned with what
the individual may or may not think of us. Someone once said, "Confession is good
for the soul". Confession is being willing to admit that what is being committed or
omitted is sin.
"The great conviction of sin and subsequent confession of sin is common during times of spiritual awakening.
There is really nothing unusual about confession during Revival. Finney — a great apostle of Revival — urged it and described it."
This regular practice will enable us to fulfill the last part of the verse - praying fervently. More genuine
confession will lead to more fervent praying which leads to more being accomplished for the glory of God!
