Our Scripture reading today is Joshua 1:5-7.

Verse 5, "There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake."
The promise in this passage is given to a brand new leader by the name of Joshua.  The first leader of Israel is now dead.  What would happen to the people?  We find that the power is not in the leader, but in the God of the leader.  The same God that empowered Moses to lead is the same God that will now empower Joshua to lead.
Thankfully, God continues to keep this promise.  As a child of the King, we are promised His presence (Hebrews 13:5), power (Acts 1:8), and peace (Philippians 4:7).  Take a few minutes and look those verse up.  Read them and then re-read them.  The God of Moses and Joshua is our God too!  Even in death, He is our faithful Heavenly Father - 2 Corinthians 5:8, "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
Place your confidence in the Creator God.  He will not fail or forsake you!
