Our Scripture reading today is Galatians 6:14, "But God forbid that I should glory, save in the
cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world."
Are you dead to the things of the this world? The goal of every born again believer ought
to be to live daily dead to the world, flesh, and devil and alive to the Holy Spirit. This
world is only our temporary dwelling place. This means we should not put our roots
down too deeply here because Heaven is calling us. God's people are in this world to be
lights and salt. We are to die to self every day and guard against becoming like the world.
“‘The world is crucified unto me,’ means that I condemn the world. ‘I am crucified unto the world,’
means that the world in turn condemns me.” (Luther) “The world and I are well agreed. The world cares
not a pin for me, and I care as little for the world.” (Trapp)
