Our Scripture reading today is Hebrews 2:14-15.
Verse 15, "And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage."
One of if not the greatest fear in our society today is death. This fear is a tyrant that rules over so many lives. If we dwell on the subject, it will constantly keep us in bondage. The devil is all about fear and bondage. He would love to keep every Hell bound sinner living in fear of death and eternity. There is no doubt in my mind that Satan is in the source of all types of bondage.
A blessing of being a child of God is no longer being in bondage. We need not fear death or eternity. Death is our defeated foe. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, provided us all the victory we would ever need. Verse 14 of our text says that Satan's works have been destroyed by the work of the cross! This truth can be claimed every day. In addition, we are eternally secure in the hands of the Father! John 10:29, "My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." Rest in this Bible promise today!!
