Our Scripture reading today is Hebrews 9:11-14.
Verse 12, "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us."
"What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus; What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus." Yes, the blood of our Saviour, Jesus Christ is precious. It is the only cleansing stream that can make us and keep us white as snow. Jesus Christ is our once and for all sacrifice. His sinless blood (1 Peter 1:19, "But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:") was the key that opened the door to the holy of holies in Heaven. As sinners saved by grace we have been given access. We refer to this as the Priesthood of the believer. What does this title mean? It simply means that we no longer need an OT High Priest to go to God on our behalf. Our access has been granted by our Great High Priest! 1 Timothy 2:5, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" This access is a great privilege that we should express our thanks for on a regular basis. We can talk directly to Almighty God through His Son!!
