Our Scripture reading today is 1 John 5:4, "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."
It has often be said the greatest life is the faith life. John writes that faith is what guides
us to overcome the world. The salvation that God provided us was not just to go to Heaven
when we die physically. There is so much more to the Christian life that ought to be
accomplished on a daily basis. Romans 8:37, "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through
him that loved us."
The new birth in Christ Jesus enables us to live a new way. No longer should the world
dominate us. No longer should the world be our daily focus. We are saved to serve the
Lord. Ephesians 2:10, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God
hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
