Our Scripture reading today is Proverbs 14:27, "The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart
from the snares of death."
The fear of the LORD guides us to understand who God is. We are not to be "scared"
of God. He is our faithful, heavenly Father. As children, we are to submit to His
perfect will for our lives. There is clearly a benefit to a proper fear of the LORD. It
helps us realize He is keeping an eye on us and only allowing into our lives what will
bring Him glory. This type of fear will lead to a trust beyond our own understanding.
