Our Scripture reading today is John 14:23, "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man
love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him,
and make our abode with him."
A love for God goes far beyond our words. If we love God, we will make it a priority to
follow His commandments. “That is more than a ‘commandment,’ is it not? Christ’s ‘word’ is more
than precept. It includes all His sayings, and it includes them all as in one vital unity and organic whole.
We are not to go picking and choosing among them; they are one.” (Maclaren) While no one is perfect,
it is the desire of those wholove the LORD to follow His will for their life.
May God be glorified in the way we choose to live our lives on a daily basis. He gave
us the greatest gift we could ever be given. God is worthy of our surrender and dedicated
life!
