Our Scripture reading today is 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

There is a beautiful promise to the believer who agrees with God about their sin.
The promise is that forgiveness and cleaning will be given. This confession is not
a once for all confession. It is in the present tense which means it will take place
over and over again. The saint of God is able to confess do to the shed blood of
God's son, Jesus Christ. It is imperative to maintain a healthy fellowship with
God. Sin does not cause a loss of salvation, but it does hinder the fellowship.
Psalm 66:18, "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:"

Is there something in your life that needs to be confessed? Don't delay! Deal with
it before you leave your home this morning. Come to God's house with as clear
of a conscience as possible. Forgiveness is waiting to be claimed.
