Our Scripture reading today is 2 Samuel 20:20, "And Joab answered and said, Far be it, far be it from
me, that I should swallow up or destroy."

The mercy of God continues to be poured out on our lives. They are new every morning.
This mercy we have received ought to be given to others. Our lives should be conduits
allowing God's mercy to flow through us to those who we have influence over. The mercy
of God is on full display at the cross. God gave His Son to be a sacrifice for the sins of
all mankind. His mercy made it possible for all sinners to avoid the judgment of Hell.
Any sinner can be saved if they will put their faith in Jesus Christ. They must believe
that they cannot save themselves and that Jesus Christ is the way to the Father. None of
this would be possible without the mercy of God.

There are plenty of people who need us to show them mercy. Ask God to give you a
heart of mercy for others.
