Our Scripture reading today is 2 Corinthians 5:17-19.
Verse 19, "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation."
It always amazes me when I am reminded that God sought us! God wants to redeem fallen mankind and made it possible through His Son, Jesus Christ. (Read verse 21 of our text.). Our sins were completely removed from our account when we by faith received God's sacrificial gift of salvation. The love of God continues to seek sinners today. Romans 5:8, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
In the last line of verse 19, we are told that we too, should be spreading the word about God's reconciliation. Every born again child of God is to be a voice of truth today. God's messengers are made up of those who He has already reconciled. We have the privilege of taking this truth to our families, friends and any one else we come into contact with. The message of God's reconciliation is a message of hope. Share it with someone today!
