Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 50:15, "And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee,
and thou shalt glorify me."

We find a promise from God in this verse that if we call, He will deliver. God always
keeps His promises! “The glorious God cares nothing for pomp and show; but when you call upon him
in the day of trouble, and ask him to deliver you, there is meaning in your groan of anguish.... God prefers
the prayer of a broken heart to the finest service that ever was performed by priests and choirs.” (Spurgeon)

There is also a purpose for Him delivering us in times of trouble. "Thou shalt glorify
me." When we experience the gracious moving of God, there ought
to be a response of bringing Him glory. Far too many times, Christians will quickly
go back to living for themselves and not the LORD. Much like the nation of Israel
in the Old Testament. God is love and has shown us His love over and over. It is
time that we stay true to His Word and find as many ways as possible to bring Him
glory.
