Our Scripture reading today is Mark 9:24, "And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief."

How many of us can relate to the dilemma of this father? There is belief in us, but
we also know there are times of unbelief. The healing of his son seemed completely
out of reach. Yes, Jesus is powerful, but how can He heal my son? “While men have no faith, they are
unconscious of their unbelief; but, as soon as they get a little faith, then they begin to be conscious
of the greatness of their unbelief.” (Spurgeon)

Faith is built by staying in the Word of God as well as going through challenging times. God's record
is unblemished. He has never failed and He will not start with my life or yours. When moments of unbelief
flood over us, it is time to grab our Bibles and go to God with the same request of this father - Help me
with my unbelief".
