Our Scripture reading today is Romans 5:6-11.
Verse 9, "Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him."
All of mankind was born with a sin nature which brings with it a death penalty. Romans 5:12, "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" As sinners, we are condemned already and under the wrath of God. It was truly a hopeless and helpless situation.
Our verse for today offers all sinners hope! We can receive justification through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. This justification makes us as if we were never even a sinner. It provides us with the righteousness of Jesus Christ and saves us from God's wrath. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the message that must be preached throughout the entire world. Jesus continues to be and always will be the way, the truth, and the life.
