Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 71:5, "For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth."
The family of God is anchored in the Lord Jesus. While the world looks for hope in all the wrong places, we are promised hope in the LORD God. He is almighty, unchangeable God. Jesus Christ showed His power in many ways, but the greatest example was when He walked out of the tomb after three days. The empty tomb is more than enough proof that we have hope in Him!
My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
but wholly lean on Jesus' name.
