Our Scripture reading today is Daniel 4:25, "That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling
shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet
thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High
ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will."
Daniel made it clear to the king that the king was not in charge like he thought he was.
There was a KING in Heaven Who ruled over all the affairs of mankind. Nebuchadnezzar
needed to be humbled. He was not willing to humble himself so God helped him a little
by sending him into the fields to live like an ox for seven years. This made him realize
that God puts people in power and takes them out of power.
It would behoove us to learn from the king that it is always better to humble ourselves
than to have God do it. Humility leads to more grace. We need God's grace daily.
1 Peter 5:5, "Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one
to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble."
