Our Scripture reading today is Luke 17:17-19.

Verse 19, "And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole."

Everything the Lord Jesus said when He was on the earth was significant and should be carefully observed.  The healed leper that humbly turned back and gave Jesus thanks also received an inward healing.  It appears to me that the nine men who were healed of their leprosy were still dealing with an inner illness.  The Samaritan received and outward and inner healing.  The key to both was his faith.

The Christian life starts by faith, should continue by faith, and by God's grace, it should end by faith.  By end, I am referring to our physical ending.  The Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:"  Paul's physical life was about to come to a close.  As a Christian, our spirit has no ending.  We have been given eternal life through the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus.  We cannot keep the faith in our strength, but we can keep it by being filled with Spirit.
