Our Scripture reading today is Deuteronomy 5:29, "O that there were such an heart in them,
that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them,
and with their children for ever!"
God knows that our obedience leads to His blessing. He knows it will be well with us
if we fear Him and keep His commandments. You can almost feel His love coming
off the page of the Word of God. God longs for His children to be blessed. At the end
of the verse, God reminds us that our actions impact generations to come.
The choice many have made to leave the church will bring a sad reaping in the lives of theirchildren
and even worse in their grandchildren. They literally walked away from the
blessings of God and right into the chastisement of God. This is not the heart of God
for you and me. It will be well with us if we follow His plan by being obedient to
His Word.
