Our Scripture reading today is 2 Corinthians 8:7-9.
Verse 9, "For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich."
The emphasis at the beginning of 2 Corinthians 8 is grace giving.  The example we are to following in giving is our Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Our eternal home in Heaven is secure due to His grace giving.  He gave Himself on Calvary's cross that we might be freed from the penalty, power, and presence of sin.  Praise the LORD!
I think we could sum up this verse in one word, OTHERS.  Jesus Christ came to earth for poor, wretched sinners like me.  He came for others.  Jesus Christ came to earth in order to provide a means for sinners to be forgive,  He came for others.  Jesus Christ left the glories of Heaven and came to earth in order that we might leave earth and join Him someday in the glories of Heaven.  He came for OTHERS!
When we consider everything He has accomplished in us and done for us, it will cause us to live for others.  Who can you be a blessing to today?  Who can you encourage today?  His grace will enable us to be a conduit of blessing for someone in need.  Grace giving always focuses on OTHERS!
