Lot Pitched His Tent Toward Sodom

Today’s Scripture reading is Genesis 13:10-12.

Verse 12, "Lot...pitched his tent toward Sodom.  

I cannot remember where I heard it or who said it, but I remember the quote - "Your direction determines your destination."  It is an obvious statement, but one of great importance as well.  Lot made a poor choice of direction by living so close to Sodom.  Sodom was very worldly and would eventually be destroyed by God. (Genesis 19:24)  

The take home truth for us today is not allowing our choice of direction to point back to the world we were saved from or out of.  The world, the flesh and the devil are our enemies.  We need to direct our thoughts and actions towards the Word of God.  God's Word will lead us to God's will.  The will of God is the place to pitch our tent!
