Our Scripture reading today is Isaiah 63:1, "Who is this that cometh from Edom, with
dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness
of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save."

This passage of scripture speaks of the judgement of the LORD. He has judged
Edom and He is on way to Jerusalem. His garments are dyed with the blood
of those who were judged. “God’s act of judgment against Edom is clearly conceived to be a
putting right of the wrongs done to Zion, especially since the Edomites took advantage of
Judah’s weakness after the Fall of Jerusalem to the Babylonians.” (Grogan)

Even in the midst of this, we read about His righteousness and power. God
is "mighty to save". The One Who is judging is willing to save all those who
turn to Him in faith and repentance. Acts 20:21, "Testifying both to the Jews, and
also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ."
