Our Scripture reading today is Ezra 9:6, "And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my
face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens."

This verse describes what many today do not have any more. They have lost the shame
that should come with sin. It is vitally important that we remain sensitive to our own sin
and the sin of those around us. Sin is nothing to joke about and we see that happening
even in the lives of some Christians. My sin put Christ on the cross. Your sin caused
His royal, red blood to flow. The thought of this should keep us humble and repentent.

Praise God that we can be forgiven and His mercies are new every day. God is more
than willing to accept our heart-felt confession. Part of today's Bible reading comes
from Proverbs 24:16, "For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked
shall fall into mischief." Thank the Lord we can rise up today and
walk in His great grace.
