Our Scripture reading today is 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
Verse 19, "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?"
One of the most encouraging and challenging statements in the Word of God, "...your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost..." God's Spirit goes with us every where we go. No doubt, this is an encouraging reminder! In addition, we are also challenged to remember that the life we have belongs to the Lord. It is no longer ours. Now we belong to Jesus! Our daily desire ought to be to please Him and bring honour and glory to Him. Our body is to be protected from world and our enemy, the devil. There is a constant onslaught to bring sin into our bodies. This attack starts over every single day, and we all know what sin does when it is finished...it brings death!
Our hope is in the One Who indwells us. God's Spirit will enable us to overcome the temptation and be victorious every time. God's Spirit is more powerful than our enemy and He will give us the victory if we walk in His will. 1 John 4:4, "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world."
