Our Scripture reading today is Acts 5:27-29.
Verse 29, "We ought to obey God rather than men."
The apostles made quite the bold statement in response to the authorities of their day.  It is a principle that every follower of Jesus Christ should apply to his or her life.  Obeying God is to be our first priority.  I have heard this statement or ones close to it - "I feel this is right or I need to do this because..."  Unfortunately, these statements do not sound anything like the one Peter and the disciples made.  We should never allow our feelings and emotions to guide us in making decisions.  This would be obeying man...self.  What does God's Word say about the decision I am making?  Is there a Biblical principle that should be followed?
Our love for God will be clearly displayed as we obey His Word!  John 14:15, "If ye love me, keep my commandments."
