Today's Scripture reading is Hebrews 11:6-7, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith."
Hebrews chapter 11 lists numerous people that pleased God. While they had many things uncommon, one thing they had in common was how they pleased God...By Faith! The formula for pleasing God in 2021 has not changed. If we truly believe God is, we will come to Him diligently for the needs of others as well as our needs. As we have mentioned before the word, diligently, means to search for, investigate, to crave. If you say you have a craving for chocolate, you are going to find a way to get chocolate. If we believe God is able to meet a certain need, we will continue to ask, seek and knock until the answer comes. Do we really believe God is able?
“These two elements seem most simple, but, alas, how many professing Christians act as if God were not living; and how many others, though seeking after Him, are not expecting from Him as Rewarder!” (Newell)
Strong Faith says God IS able and WILL reward! To Him be all the glory.
