Our Scripture reading today is Jeremiah 8:11, "For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace."
The world continues to search for peace and mostly in all the wrong places. Peace will never be found in drugs or alcohol. Peace will never be found in wealth or power. The world is hungry for peace and it can only be found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. He is the Prince of Peace! Isaiah 9:6, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
God provided all the peace the world could ever need through His Son. We can have the peace of God but we can also have peace with God. John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." Romans 5:1, "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:" May we look for someone today who needs to hear the message of Biblical peace!
