Our Scripture reading today is Romans 5:1, "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:"
The most important peace an individual can have is peace with God. Sin makes us
the enemy of God. We are born sinners and we choose to sin. God is holy which
makes us unable to have a relationship with Him. God also loves us which is why
He made it possible for our sin to be forgiven. See John 3:16.
If we accept God's justification by faith, we will automatically have peace with God.
This peace will never be taken away. It is an eternal peace due to the sacrifice of His
Son, Jesus Christ that was applied to our sinful account. Jesus' shed blood cleansed us
from all of our sin. Now, we are no longer the enemy of God, but we are His children.
