Our Scripture reading today is Joshua 1:1-2.

Verse 1, "Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,"

God had been preparing Joshua to lead the nation of Israel by being Moses assistant.  Joshua was prepared for a big job by doing many small jobs.  Redpath tells of a motto over a kitchen sink: “Divine service is conducted here three times daily.” The motto is true, and great men and women are prepared by faithfulness in the small things.   Zechariah 4:10, "For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth."

We spoke about Paul's preparation this last Sunday night.  Preparation always means we are being changed.  How is God preparing you?  What might God be preparing you to do?  May each of us be moldable clay in the hand of the potter.
