Our Scripture reading today is Acts 17:10-12.

Verse 11, "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."

We are reading right in line with where we have been preaching on Sunday mornings.  This is exactly where we left off yesterday.  The Christians in the city of Berea definitely had a reputation that is worth emulating.  Dr. Luke writes that they had a "readiness of mind" when it was time to hear the preaching and teaching of God's Word.  There was a zeal and eagerness as to what God was going to say to them.  They prepared themselves before going to church.

I would to encourage us all to seek God's help in having a readiness of mind and spirit before coming to church and or opening His Word for personal reading and study.  Again, it comes back to the old saying, "We don't have to go to church and listen to preaching; we get to."  The right heart attitude will make a big difference in what we receive in our personal reading or public church services.  We need Anchor Baptist to be filled with Berea believers!

Have a wonderful day!
