Today's Scripture reading is Deuteronomy 6:10-12.
Verse 10, "And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,"
While there are several applications we could make from these few verses, the one that God's Spirit made crystal clear to me was the fact that God always keeps His promises.  When he was referring to the people entering Canaan, Moses said, "when", not if.  God would lead them into Canaan. (See Joshua 3-4) God always keeps His promises!
The more we read the Word of God, the more we come across promises that God has already fulfilled or will fulfill.  His Word is true and can be trusted.  Titus 1:2, "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;"  I think we would all the agree that the greatest promise we have is eternal life.  Jesus Christ is and will always be the way, the truth, and the life.
Search the Scriptures today and be on the look out for God's promises.  2 Peter 1:4, "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."
