Our Scripture reading today is Luke 9:10-11.

Verse 10, "And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida."

At the beginning of the chapter, they were called as disciples (learners) and now, they are being sent as apostles.  They were given authority and had a message to tell.  No doubt, their learning continued, but now they are putting into practice what they have learned.  There were many people who needed to be helped, and Jesus (in His physical body) was limited to be in one place at a time.

I think the question that comes to mind is, "What are we doing with what we are learning from God's Word?"  If we were to have a meeting with Jesus, what kind of report would we give Him as to what we have been doing in His service?  Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."  What good works are you walking in today?
