Welcome to March!  Our Scripture reading today is Romans 5:19-21.
Verse 21, "That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord."
At birth, we all started with the same spiritual need.  We were born dead.  Yes, you read that correctly.  While we were alive physically, we were dead spiritually.  Romans 5:12 tells us that, "death passed upon all men."  It may sound like a hopeless beginning to life.  The hope we find is never in us, but always in Jesus Christ.  His death, burial, and resurrection provided the grace needed to freely give us His righteousness.  John 1:12, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"
The transaction that takes place when a dead, sinner accepts Jesus Christ' gift of salvation is irreversible and eternal.  Now, that is hope!  Our hope is built not on our good works, but on Jesus blood and His righteousness.  Praise the Lord today for His grace that is STILL reigning in your life!!
