Our Scripture reading today is Isaiah 62:5, "For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall
thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee."
While there is never a bad time of the year to get married, it does seem like summer is
filled with weddings. The joy and love of a wedding are mentioned in the early part
of this chapter. God rejoices over His people just as the man rejoices over the woman
in a wedding ceremony. Isaiah is referring to the nation of Israel, but God loves and
rejoices over all of His children.
Take time today to rejoice in His goodness and grace in your life. Psalm 118:24, "This is the day which
the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."
