Our Scripture reading today is 2 Timothy 2:2, "And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."
One goal of every local NT church ought to be to send her members into the harvest field equipped with the Truth! The Apostle Paul's days are truly numbered at this point in his life. Some of his last words to Timothy were to make sure he passes along what he has had heard to others who will do likewise. Paul reminded Timothy of the body of truth that he had heard from the Apostle in the presence of many others.
In recent months, we have emphasized the goal of being a sending church. This prayer request has multiple meanings. We do want to continue to be the sending church for missionaries who are called from Anchor Baptist to go outside of BC and Canada to preach and teach the Gospel. Praise the Lord for the opportunity we have to be the sending church for the Turners in Uganda. In addition, it is our prayer to weekly send the Anchor Baptist Church family into the communities with live and work in with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As God pours truth into us, we must pour truth into others. To God be all the glory!
