Our Scripture reading today is Daniel 6:16, "Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel,
and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou
servest continually, he will deliver thee."
The testimony of Daniel had impacted the king to such a degree that the king made a
statement of faith regarding Daniel's protection. The king believed that God
would in some miraculous way keep Daniel safe while the hungry lions surrounded
him. The key to this testimony was Daniel's faithful service to God. The king took
notice and it impacted him deeply.
What does your service for God look like? Do you have a place of service for the
King? Like Daniel, each child of God ought to be faithfully serving God. He saved
us not to sit idly by but to serve for the advancement of His kingdom. Ephesians
2:10, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath
before ordained that we should walk in them."
