Today's Scripture reading is Proverbs 1:24-27.
Verse 25, "But ye have set at nought all my counsel,"
The phrase, "set at naught" means to dismiss; to overlook.  This verse is describing someone who does not want to listen to what God has to say.  It matters not the topic, they don't want to hear it.  There is an obvious connection between our failures and our unwillingness to listen to God's advice.  In verse 24, there is an offer of His help and provision and it is refused.  God has provided everything we need for every relationship and circumstance.  These needs are met in His Word.  By not reading, memorizing and meditating on God's Word, we are on the road to setting at naught all His counsel.
Psalm 119:105, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
