Our Scripture reading today is Daniel 3:17, "If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king."
The three Hebrew young men who were living in hostile territory showed great faith in
very challenging time. They were willing to stand for their beliefs and their beliefs were
in the One true God. Three men stood and did not bow. Three men out of hundreds and
likely there were thousands who bowed to giant likeness of the king. There testimony
lives on thousands of years later. A testimony that should motivate us to take a stand
for the Lord. He is worthy of our uncompromising commitment.
As the group from Florida sang recently - 'Stand for Jesus, don't be ashamed. Stand for
Jesus, claim His name. For He loved you on a rugged cross. Stand for Jesus!"
