Our Scripture reading today is James 4:13-15.
Verse 15, "For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that."
The life we have been given is a precious gift from God.  It is important to use every day to its fullest.  This can be accomplished as we ask for God's will to be fulfilled. Over the last few days, God has proven time and time again that His will is much better than the plan we have in place.  The sooner we recognize we are incapable of living life without God, the better life we will have.  Pride keeps me from admitting I am weak.  Pride keeps me from admitting I am lacking wisdom.  Pride keeps God from giving me the grace He has available for me.
What can be done to make verse 15 of James 4 a part of our life?  Humility!  Humility says God's ways are greater than mine.  Humility says God's ways are better for me than mine.  The Apostle Paul spoke of this way of living in Acts 18:21, "But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus."  As we plan and pray, we must yield our wills to the Fathers.  The will of God will always be for our good and His glory.
