Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 136:1-3.
Verse 1, "O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever."
The goodness of our God is something we need to meditate on more often. Everything God does is good. It all started with creation in Genesis 1 and His goodness continues today in your life and mine. We are His children as a direct result of His goodness. Romans 2:4, "Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?" Not one day that we rise up are we without the goodness of our God! Psalm 23:6, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."
